Nick at Nite Exec Shares History of TV Land and Its Success
Co-host Brad Forsythe interviews Tom Hill, creative director at Nick-at-Nite and TV Land as well as the author of TV Land to Go. Tom Hill is Vice President/Creative Director of TV Land and Nick at Nite, overseeing the on-air promotion and creative writing of both brands. One of the creators of the network's trademark wacky tongue-in-cheek sensibility, Hill has written for Nick at Nite since 1987. He has been responsible for many award-winning campaigns and spots that are familiar to Nick at Nite and TV Land viewers: Dixie the Nick at Nite Pixie, The Adventures of Milkman, Dick Van Dyke's Chairman campaign, TV Land’s Sixty Second Sitcoms and Innovators of TV Land. In 2000, he began appearing on-air as the host of an on-going series of interstitial spots entitled “TV Land To Go,” which present television oddities and behind-the-scenes facts. His on-going passion for everything television, and his wide-ranging observations are collected in the newly published TV Land To Go; The Big Book of TV Lists, TV Lore and TV Bests. (Fireside 2001) In 1995, Hill conceived and wrote the half-hour parody documentary "Brady: An American Chronicle."
